If there is one thing I love more than vanilla iced coffee and Lulu Lemon yoga pants it’s browsing the aisles of Sephora and Ulta for the newest fall makeup palettes. From the blending techniques to the color combinations, makeup is truly an art form used as a way to express, elevate and capture someone’s natural beauty. I wanted to share with you some of my all-time favorite eyeshadow palettes, primers, foundations, powders, and my absolute must haves when it comes to mascara, concealers and false lashes. As we slip away from summer trends of bold neon’s and electric hues, warmer tones of burgundy and chestnut fill our makeup drawers instead.
Remember, the products that I am about to suggest may not work for everyone because every single face is different. Different in skin tones, sensitivities, and oily vs. dry skin. After years of testing what works harmoniously with my skin I have found that I am not particularly acne prone, I have a light to olive skin complexion and my skin tends to be on the oily side. These factors should weigh in on what products you should steer away from or turn to when deciding.

The Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
Why have I not purchased this sooner?! This is exactly what I said too after trying it. You know that 2:00 PM makeup feel where it seems to clump together and seep into those fine lines on our face? Well, this product eliminates that and allows the makeup to gently glide over pores not falling into them. It feels almost velvet as it touches the face, light weight, and odorless. A complete must for any look in my opinion!
Smashbox Pore Minimizing Primer
After applying the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer I like to apply the Pore Minimizing Primer on and around my nose. By using this it reduces the appearance of pores as well as tightens them. Allure had named this product one of their Best of Beauty.
Mac Cosmetics Studio Fluid Foundation
I have tried everything from the CVS brands to Chanel and Armani, and I am constantly running back to this every single time. I prefer a matte, poreless foundation because it compliments my oily skin. The same can be said for those who prefer an oil based foundation to cancel out their dry skin. It is a thick, full coverage foundation that has an array of colors for when I go from being super tan in the summer months to pale as a ghost during the winter.
Mac Full Coverage Foundation
Yes, this is a second foundation on the list. I have recently discovered this and have been instantly hooked. After placing the above foundation on, I like to go back and dab a little of this on my chin, nose and forehead as those are the places I find the makeup wears off the quickest during the day. It also is made for longevity in mind, but does away with the cakey look and feel.
Mac Studio Finish Concealer
I have always had very dark circles under my eyes and this product corrects it completely. I suggest getting a light shade such as NW 10 because it brightens your under eyes and plays into the contour later.
Mac Pro Longwear Concealer
This concealer I place on top of the one above as it is a liquid and instantly dries to a matte finish. It locks the Studio Finish Concealer in place and creates a shield that will not crack, run or wipe away throughout the day.
Tarte Shape Tape
This product is constantly out of stock on almost every website. Every beauty blogger and makeup guru swears by this, and I can definitely see why now. I use this to create a contour under my eyes and on my nose. The product is thick, blends well and stays on ALL DAY LONG. I usually purchase in bulk because I never know when the next time it will be sold out online!
Laura Mercier Translucent Powder
After placing the foundation on I like to lock it in with the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. DO NOT skip on this step. Baking is one of the most important steps as it holds everything you have done in place all day. It creates a matte finish and does not give you that oily look. I suggest leaving it on the face for 5 minutes and gently wiping away the excess powder with a fluffy brush.
Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Pressed Powder
AMAZING! This is a matte powder that glides on the face effortlessly. There are countless powders on the market, but after using this I tossed my old ones and stocked up on these little babies. I have been obsessed with this product ever since it hit the stores and I have constantly recommended this to family and friends.
Kat Von D Contour Kit
If you prefer powder contouring rather than the liquid contours, this is going to instantly become a staple in your home. I have already been through three of these, that is how much I love it. The light powders are used for the under eyes and the T-shape on the face, while the darker ones are for contouring your cheek bones and to line your forehead and jawline.
Becca Shimmering Skin highlighter in Champagne Pop & Color FX
Before I place the Becca highlighter on I first place the FX highlighter as a liquid. I dab it in with a small makeup sponge letting it soak into my skin. The colors that they offer are unbelievable! I highly recommend Halo and the color Moonlight. Ultra pigmented with a sun-kissed glow. Next, Becca Champagne Pop is so bright that it only needs one swipe of the brush to give you that glowing POP of color. I use this right above my cheek bones, the inner corners of my eye, and on the bridge of my nose.
Kat Von D Liquid Liner
The dreaded winged eyeliner. This will help solve that problem. Make a straight, pointed, jet black eye liner with this product. I have found some to be runny while others did not have the dark black color I desired. (Yes, there are many shades of black in my opinion). The bristle bends just enough to work with you in making a point while instantly drying as soon as it is applied.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara & Define A Lash Mascara
These mascaras are jet black with thick bristles to instantly create that volume you were looking for! I use the Too Faced right over my Define A Lash Mascara as I find this one lifts while the Define A Lash separates and looks uniform!
Nars Larger Than Life Long-wear Eyeliner
During the day, I prefer to wear a nude eyeliner rather than a dark brown or black. It also elevates the eyeshadow colors and reduces overall redness or inflammation in and around the eyes.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Makeup Palette & Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette
Can you say WOW?! This has all of your fall colors in one small pallet. They are both so pigmented and beautiful that I just had to purchase both. The deep browns and rich burgundy colors blend extremely well with the oranges and shimmer swatches the two palettes offer.
Nars Orgasm Blush
This has been their number one selling blush for so long and I can completely understand why. It has just enough shimmer while being sure to not take away from the actual color itself. The light pink and brown tones bring about the natural rosy color on the cheeks and keep with any eyeshadow color you select that day.
Anastasia Bevery Hills Dipbrow
I have used everything from a pencil to gel, and this is my saving grace. I recommend getting a lighter shade as it comes out darker than what appears to be in the packaging. I use the color “blonde” and even this is a darker brown shade. I simply dip my brush (Anastasia has a brush specifically for this on Sephora) and draw it on. I set the brow with a clear gel and then use a thin brush mixing with a light concealer and draw a line under the brow to shape and define it.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick
You will be shocked to see how many colors this line has. I recommend purchasing the shade Heather which is a deep brown with red undertones or Sepia where it is a light gray/brown color. These two colors I pair with almost every outfit in the fall as it both rich and dark enough to wear at night and during the day. They are also a full coverage, matte drying lipstick that will NOT dry out your lips!
Huda Beauty Faux Mink Lashes
On of my favorite lashes is this one right here. It not only looks natural, but its layered giving your lashes the look of body and fullness. I tend to stay away from the one strip lashes where the actual lashes are all in one cohesive line. It does not blend with your real ones and brings attention to your eyes in the wrong way. Another favorite brand that I love is Lilly Lashes in the style Miami. First seen on Kylie Jenner, I instantly had to have them!
Mac Prep and Prime Fix
You’re not finished until you spray. After completing your look, spray your face with this light mist to set and lock in your makeup for hours of wear!
