Skin Care Products That Leave You Glowing

February 18, 2018

Let’s start with the basics! If you take care of your skin, your skin will ultimately look and feel healthier. I tend to splurge when it comes to taking care of my face because making it a point now will help you in the long run in terms of looking more youthful and radiant. I have listed my absolute favorite products below (with links so you can purchase them directly) and five tips that you should follow in order to keep your skin feeling its best!

Everyday Skin Care Products

Peter Thomas Roth Eye Patches – These lil guys come in a variety of options, but my personal favorite is the “Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud” and the “Cucumber De-Tox.” My friend, Alyssa, had introduced me to these and I have been hooked ever since. These eye patches come in a gel-like substance and can be applied right under the under eye. They promise to improve dark eye circles, help to hydrate dry eyes or reduce puffiness. Each one guarantees a different outcome so you can customize them to your own individual needs.

Peter Thomas Roth Face Masks –  Just as he has different eye patches, he also makes a ton of face masks! These can get pretty pricy depending on what one you select; however, I have just found a fantastic deal on Sephora giving away 4 masks and 1 eye patch for $75.00, normally priced at $244.00. You just can’t beat that! One of his most popular masks, the 24k gold face mask is also included in this! The 24k gold mask promises to leave skin feeling firmer, smoother and reduce the look of lines and wrinkles while the 24k eye patch that is included promises to reduce puffiness in as little as 10 minutes. This package is a great way to try a bundle of his products at a super low price!

Kiehl’s Avocado Creamy Eye Treatment – Anything with avocado I am a sucker for! I put this eye cream on every time I finish washing my face as it is both refreshing, light and smells amazing. It is also fantastic for sensitive skin and can be worn both at night and during the day. The treatment promises to moisturize deep into the skin leaving you with less puffiness and dry eyes.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate – Everyone needs a great oil, and this one definitely does the trick. I have been using this every single night for two years and LOVE it. I place this oil on before bed and let it soak deep into my pores. The product looks to recover your skin overnight while you sleep by improving firmness and elasticity. It is a combination of essential oils such as lavender and primrose.

Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Facial Wash – I have been using the brand “Philosophy” since I was little. So, seeing as though I loved it so much when I was a child, I decided to integrate it into my daily routine as an adult. Every product that they make smells absolutely amazing and is beyond gentle on your skin. Not to mention they have inspirational quotes and sayings on every bottle and their packaging is so beautifully done. Give this face wash a try as it helps to clear away dead skin cells, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and improve dullness and uneven textures.

La Mer Moisturizing Cream – This cream is one of the best-selling products on the market and I can see why! It is great for oily, normal, sensitive and dry skin that offers a rich cream to be applied after exfoliating the face. This container is jam packed with vitamins and minerals to regenerate, soothe, moisturize and heal your skin. Your skin will definitely thank you for this!

Mario Badescu Facial Spray - This rosewater, herb and aloe infused mist is the icing on the cake. After you finish washing and exfoliating your face, spray this on and you’re ready to go! It is a refreshing mist that looks to hydrate the skin while you sleep, and not to mention is smells amazing.

Mario Badescu Acid Toner – Do not skip on the toner! Apply this on with a cotton ball and rub the toner all over your face. I personally like a toner that has a slight burning sensation as it wakes me up and feels as though it is getting deep into my pores. The “burning” sensation usually comes from acidic fruits. In this case, it uses grapefruit to refresh and stimulate the skin. It also promises to take away the buildup on the top layer of the skin that will improve dullness.

Infused -- Live in the Philadelphia or Marlton area? Infused is a place where I go to create custom products ranging in shampoos, conditioners, oils, and face masks. If you're looking for gluten-free, vegan or all natural products, this place customizes everything from the ingredients to the scents making it a unique experience every time you walk in the door!

Simple Tips to Improve Your Skin

1. Wash Your Face - Make sure you wash your face every night before sleeping (yes, that means taking all your makeup off before having your head hit that pillow).

2. Stop Tanning. I went tanning all the time during high-school and just now noticed that it had started to damage the skin on my neck. An alternative is to get a spray tan or use self-tanning products (blog post coming soon on my favorite product)!

3. Clean Your Makeup Brushes - Yes, your makeup brushes need to be cleaned once every few weeks as they trap dirt in your pores and can lead to more break outs.

4. Wash Your Pillow Sheets -  If you are breaking out more than usual it could be due to unclean sheets. Spending hours in bed sleeping leads to bacteria build up that will ultimately begin to settle on your face causing unwanted pimples.

5. Diet and Exercise - You are what you eat. If you eat clean then your skin and body will reward you. But, if you consistently consume sugary and processed foods with little to no exercise your body will be the first to tell you it's not happy in the form of breakouts and tiredness.
